Hot dogs are already a mainstay of any American’s diet—whether from tailgating parties, grilling outdoors, or even at home for movie night, we all enjoy them. 1. Hot Dog Dippers
Instead of Pigs-in-a-Blanket, these dippers make use of biscuit dough and the hot dogs you keep in your freezer. After thawing your hot dogs, wrap them in quick-made biscuit dough and bake them in the oven until golden brown. This way they make a great appetizer at a house party or even snack time for the kids after school.
2. Homemade Chili Dogs
Instead of cooking chili by itself, you can cook it to use as a topper for your hot dogs. Putting chili on top of your hot dogs and sprinkling cheddar cheese on top of it can make even the most cynical enjoy a hot dog.
3. Franks and Cheese
Macaroni and cheese is as much a mainstay as hot dogs, and honestly there isn’t any reason in the world not to combine them. Be sure to slice up your pre-cooked hot dogs into small medallions and sprinkle them throughout your mac and cheese before serving.
4. Tortilla Corn Dogs
If you want to try something a little different from the regular hot dog bun, try taking flour tortillas, wrapping them around a hot dog, and then frying in about an inch of oil until golden brown. You’ll want to make sure to use a toothpick to secure the tortilla to the frank beforehand.
5. Bacon Dogs
If hot dogs don’t have enough meat for you then try tying them off with some bacon. All you have to do is split the hot dogs lengthwise, wrap them with a slice of bacon, and fry in hot oil. Once you get it on a bun, the bacon dog will give you a crispy outside and tender inside for an added flair.
